Today I am going to meet a new person. This person is here to help me.

Page 2

They might be a psychologist, a therapist, a support worker, or another kind of helper. They have special training in helping children.

Page 3

This person is not there to judge me or to test me in a scary way.

Page 4

They are there to understand what I find easy and what I find difficult, so they can help me better.

Page 5

They might ask me questions, play some activities with me, or ask me to look at some pictures or puzzles.

Page 6

There are no right or wrong answers. They just want to understand how my brain works.

Page 7

I am allowed to say if something feels uncomfortable. I can ask for a break whenever I need one.

Page 8

A trusted adult, like my mum, dad or carer, will usually be nearby.

Page 9

After meeting me, this person will write down their ideas about how to help me. This information can help at school.

Meeting new people can feel strange at first. It is OK if I feel nervous. I am doing great.

Well done for meeting someone new today. That took real courage.
